All About What Moms Love {A New Direction for Mommy Kudos}

Mommy Kudos is going through an overhaul of sorts. In case you couldn’t tell by my posts lately {about living a more organized and beautiful life} I have been thinking deeply about how to be an amazing mom and get everything done while living an intentional and beautiful life.

Mommy Kudos has been a place where I loved to share all of the great things I found that make moms lives easier and more fun.  But I have felt a shift over the past several months in my heart.  I have a desire to really, truly, make this space “all about what moms love” as my tagline says above.  So, I have really been considering what I, as a mom, love and what I know that other moms love too. I have created a list {the shortlist of what moms love} and will be working over the next month or two to transform Mommy Kudos to fit this new vision.  Here’s my list so you get a taste of what’s to come:

Moms Love:

  • Encouragement
  • Friendship & Community
  • Having a Purpose
  • Being Creative
  • Learning How to be a Great Mom
  • Getting and STAYING Organized
  • Great Finds for Moms, Babies & Kids that make life more fun, more beautiful and simple.
  • Getting Great Deals
  • Feeding their Families Healthy and Yummy Food
  • Practical, Everyday Advice for Moms {on everything from getting rid of diaper rash to how to discipline}

The list above is what Mommy Kudos is morphing into. It will be a space where you will find helpful posts about all of the above and more! I hope the thought of these changes is exciting to you.  I have known in my heart that a change needed to be made as I found myself more and more willing to write to encourage moms to live with eyes wide open to beauty.  If you’d like to watch the transformation of Mommy Kudos and be a part of it be sure to sign up to receive email updates.

There’s a Robot for That {Dreaming of the day}

I don’t know about you but I often dream of days when “There’s a robot for that.”  It’s already happened with the abundance of apps. There is an app for just about anything you could think of wanting but, for busy moms, a “robot for that” would mean lots of time saved cleaning.  Or would it?

We already have washing machines, dishwashers, and now even robot floor vacuums.  Many of these things make a mom’s life easier but we still have a ways to go on others.  The robot floor vacuums, like Mint, Roomba and Neato are fantastic inventions but they are far from replacing the thoroughness of a human.  In some ways I feel I have been sucked in by the hype and the promises of less work (all too tempting for a busy mom of 6) and have eagerly purchased robots to clean my floors for me.  I have already been through 3 Roomba models and 1 Mint Plus and, while they do provide you with somewhat cleaner floors they all have flaws and often cause more frustration than they take away. Each of the robot floor cleaners I have had have either not been smart enough, cleaned well enough, or lasted long enough for me to feel they are (were) worth the investment.

I’m rambling about all of this today because I find myself looking, once again for a solution to so little time to clean and so much cleaning to do with a big family.  Once again I’m researching and looking into the next robot cleaner that I don’t have yet (the Neato) hoping that someway, somehow this one will have one-upped the others work well.  The reviews of it leave me torn though.  Some reviewers love it and some are quite disappointed.

All that to stay I still dream of the days when there is a robot for that (whatever “that” is) that truly works as we imagine it should.  I’ve been secretly hoping that Dyson will get into the robot business (I LOVE my Dyson vacuum!).

How about you? Do you dream about the days when robots are more helpful with everyday chores?  Have you found any that work well?
